Technip announced today that it has entered into a contract to supply its 听proprietary ethylene technology and process design package (PDP) for a world-class 听grassroots ethane cracker for the proposed 听ASCENT (Appalachian Shale Cracker Enterprise) petrochemical complex currently 听being evaluated by Odebrecht and Braskem in Parkersburg, West 听Virginia, USA.
Using ethane from shale gas, this cracker will produce 听ethylene to be used in polyethylene plants. Technip鈥檚 operating centers in 听Houston, Texas and Claremont, California, USA, and Rome, Italy, will execute 听this initial project phase.

Technip, in a joint venture 听with Odebrecht and ICA Fluor, is 听also providing engineering, procurement and construction 听services for the in Mexico, which is being built by Braskem-IDESA 听and is expected to be commissioned in 2015.
