Technip and its consortium partner Chinese 听Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) have been awarded a front end 听engineering design (FEED) contract by CNOOC Limited for two tension 听leg platforms(1) (TLPs) for the Liuhua 11-1 and 16-2 joint 听development project located in the South China Sea.
As key technical partner to COOEC, Technip 听will carry out the FEED work of China鈥檚 first two TLPs. 听
The contract covers the design and 听engineering of the topsides (including two drilling rigs), hulls, mooring and 听riser systems. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
Technip's operating center in Houston, 听Texas, USA, will execute the FEED contract.

(1) Floating production platform anchored by tendons (tensioned 听pipe), thus limiting vertical movement caused by the severe environment. This 听platform design allows for the well heads to be located at the surface, on the 听platform.
