Technip, in a consortium with Construcciones Industriales Tapia, was awarded by Petr贸leos Mexicanos (PEMEX) through its subsidiary PEMEX Refinaci贸n, a contract for the revamp of one of the conversion unit of the Ing. H茅ctor R. Lara Sosa refinery, located in Cadereyta, Mexico. Technip鈥檚 share of the contract is worth approximately USD 40 million.
The scope of work includes the detailed engineering, procurement, construction, training, commissioning and start up for the recondition of the combustion gases system of the No. 1 catalytic plant (FCC) of the refinery.
Technip鈥檚 operating center in Mexico City, Mexico, will execute the project with the support of Construcciones Industriales Tapia for construction work. The project is scheduled to be completed in the second semester of 2014.
Emiliano Pescador, Technip鈥檚 Country Manager in Mexico, stated: 鈥�This is our first EPC contract awarded by PEMEX Refinaci贸n. We managed to capture it thanks to the acquisition of Stone & Webster process technologies and associated oil and gas engineering capabilities and its extensive experience and state-of-the-art technology portfolio. This contract will also be the first project to be managed from our recently opened Mexico City office.鈥�
